VAPEFLY JESTER POD System

VAPEFLY JESTER POD System Review

Intro

Vapefly is a Chinese manufacturer founded in 2014. Their factory has OEM/ODM experience for most top brands in the e-cig industry. But they got into the vape scene in 2017 by lunching the brand Vapefly which was with rebuildable atomizers. Vapefly jester pod system is the first rebuildable dripping pod system.

The Jester offers both a refillable cartridge with a replaceable 0.5Ω mesh coil and a pod that has a rebuildable deck. I consider it as a portable dripper with a battery attached to it.

The Jester by Vapefly is an interesting new device for MTL vapors. It’s a pocketable pod vape-style. The pods have a 2 mL capacity and the replaceable coils have adjustable airflow. Powering the Jester is a 1000 mAh internal battery with three power levels.

Initial Thoughts about Vapefly Jester Pod

let’s talk about the appearance first, The Jester is another Pen Style Pod system, top load for the Pods, rounded shape and comes in various prints. The Surface is rubberized coating which gives a nice grip and the fire button sits flush so the risk of pocket-firing is minimal even when turned on.

secondly, when you start using it. 5 Clicks on the fire button turn the Jester on. Three clicks to cycle through the three power modes, or two if you use the mesh pod. Purple is 3.3V, Blue is 3.8V and the green mode 4.8V which is not available when using 0.5 ohm mesh coil. The 1000mAh battery charges from zero to full in less than hour which is good for me. The Pods are held in place by a lock and there are two buttons on the sides to press to release. This works beautifully and holds the pods in place at all times.

Let’s Dig more

Pod 1

Included is a replaceable 0.5Ω mesh stock coil with an adjustable airflow base, to remove the coil and base simply pull it from the bottom of the pod, the coil simply screws into the airflow base. The pod has a small button on one side. When pushed this will flip open the cover to reveal the silicone fill port plug, this plug is rather a tight fit. Over all I’d say this pod is pretty much standard.

Pod 2

To remove the cap simply rock and pull the cap off to reveal the stainless steel RBA deck, the build deck is designed to take a single micro coil. The airflow is handled by a center single airflow tube. The 2 small slots either side of the airflow go down in to the tank to hold your cotton for wicking.

There is a small hole above one of the wick slots. This is an airflow that feeds the center tube and also acts as an anti-suction lock. The fill port is again plugged by a silicone plug that seems to seat better than the stock coil version.

The pod cap has a stainless steel cover embedded into the plastic, this sits over the coil. It has a doming effect to catch stray liquid and condensation which will then drip back down to the coil/cotton.

Battery

Like many other comparable-size AIOs, the Jester has a 1000 mAh battery. I don’t think a rebuildable AIO/pod device should have any less capacity than this. With this battery, you could get a full day of moderate to heavy usage, but not much longer.

The charge isn’t that long though. I recently reviewed a device with 400 mAh that took 45 minutes to charge, yet the Jester was just over an hour. And it has pass-thru charging.

Shape

The shape is nothing new and almost standard for a pod but you can see a lot of thought has gone into the user experience, the pod is retained by 2 clips with push buttons on either side which work very well and hold it secure, the fire button is almost flush and in the center, the battery section has a rubberized texture to it which is nice in the hand whereas the fire button is smooth so easily found without looking, the micro USB port is on the base.

Performance

It’s been the device that I want to take with me on the go. I haven’t had any problems with leaking, spitting, or flooding with the RBA or the AIO cartridge.

The RBA head vapes well. It has a good throat hit with decent flavor (but it will also be determined by your build and wicking). The 0.5-ohm coil head performs above average. I’ve refilled the AIO cartridge 4x so far and it’s still as good as the first fill.

All three power levels work great on the Jester RBA head, though I like to keep mine at purple (3.3 V) or blue (3.8 V) so I can take long drags without excess heat. With the green setting (4.8 V) on a 1.0-ohm coil, I find the vapor a little too sharp for the length of draw I like.

With the 0.5-ohm head, I keep it at purple (3.3 V) which can take longer hits without obscuring the flavor. Like all mesh coils, it fires up quickly, but long drags with the top two voltages can get uncomfortably warm for me and the flavor can taste too toasty. No burnt or dry hits though.

Final Words

In Conclusion, The Jester is the King of Pod systems for me. In other words, Battery life is good and the finish is grippy and the overall size is nice too. If you’re an experienced builder and like the size of pod vapes, you should consider trying the Jester rebuildable edition. It’s a versatile device that performs well with the rebuildable section as well as with the replaceable coils. the 0.5-ohm mesh coil worked great. If you’re not a builder, I strongly recommend you stick with the Meshed edition.

Vapefly impressed me by really nailing the Jester. I’m comfortable recommending it.
